Is the Swagman XP, Non-Folding Bike Carrier Rated for Use Behind an RV or Trailer
Question:
Are all Swagman bike racks rated to be used at the back of a travel trailer? If not, please confirm that the Swagman 4 bike Trailhead is. We found the Swagman 4 bike rack, but would really prefer a rack that will carry 5 bikes. Is there a 5 bike rack that is rated for the back of a travel trailer you can recommend? Lastly, are there any accessories you recommend to use with either the Swagman 4 bike rack or any other 5 bike rack you recommend to help with any rattling or swaying and/or to lock the rack and bikes to the trailer for security purposes. Any help you are able to provide is greatly appreciated!

Not all Swagman bike racks are rated for use at the back of an RV or trailer. The non-folding version of the Swagman XP, # S64940, is one of the racks that is rated for RV or trailer use. There are no 5-bike racks that are rated for use behind an RV or trailer. I have included a link to the racks we carry that are rated for RV/trailer use. The highest capacity options are 4 bikes.
Many bike racks, including the XP # S64940, have a threaded hitch bolt that will hold the rack tight to the one side of the trailer hitch receiver to help eliminate bike rack movement and rattle. For additional help you could use an anti-rattle device such as # RM-061. This product can be used with accessories, such as a bike rack, or for flat towing, but not for towing a trailer.
