Is Drilling Required to Ground Tekonsha 7-Way for 2021 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Hello, so far so good with this harness kit, but i do have two questions that were not answered by the instructions. Where is a good point to ground the module to the chassis in the rear end of a 2021 Highlander XLE without drilling? Also- when running the body harness up to the battery where is the safest place between the front and rear wheel wells to stow the cable? There are no points to attach any zip ties, and the underbody panels are different from the previous generation which is demonstrated in all of the install videos online. Thanks!

Hey Larry, so the Tekonsha kit part # TK57VR does require drilling to ground the white wire of the module. You'll want to run it to a metal surface in the area but we aren't totally sure exactly what would be best location for that so you'll have to use your best judgment.

I am not sure where to route the wires that run up to battery either but you might consider running them through the vehicle interior and then back through the firewall.
