Can 3500 lb Leaf Springs Be Upgraded to Heavier Duty for a 2020 Grand Design Imagine 2400BH
Question:
I have. 2020 Grand Design Imagine2400 BH with 3500 axels. I have noticed that the passenger side leaf springs appear to be going flat causing the trailer to list to one side. I have already replaced these spring about two years ago. Is it possible to upgrade to heavier springs? The old springs which I retained measure 25.5” center to center of the shackle eye and have four leafs. Since these are the ones that flattened previously, I assume their factory dimension should be 25.25” eye to eye. Please advise if it is possible to upgrade to a heavier leaf spring? Thank you

What's up, Chuck?
You can definitely use higher-rated springs for your trailer, and for that I recommend checking out the 25-1/4" Long 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,400-lb Trailer Axles # DX95CR. Be sure to change out the leaf springs on both sides of the axle so you get the most even ride possible.
One other thing to keep in mind is that if you have one side that keeps wearing out prematurely then that could be a sign that you're overloading that one leaf spring and you'll want to move that weight around so everything wears down evenly.
