Do I Need One 12V PWM Filter VGR64VR For Furrion Camera System? Or Is It One Per Camera?

Question:

12v PWM. I understand I need the 12v PWM filter to allow my Furrion cameras to work on the trailer behind my 2022 Chevy truck. Do I need one of these for each camera? Or can I install one in the parking lamp circuit in wire loom to truck?

Hello Kevin, thanks for getting in touch. You will only need one PWM Filter # VGR64VR for your Furrion backup camera system. We actually installed one here with the filter behind the main camera and it worked with the side cameras too. The side cameras send their signal back to the main camera which is why it worked. Since you have a Furrion camera system this should be the case for you as well.

Thank you for the response. Is the part you recommended a better option than F2BC004XXBK by Furrion? 7-way adapter. Thanks

@Kevin The Furrion F2BC004XXBK part # FR87PR is a solution as well. Basically you are looking at the permanent solution with the PWM filter versus the plug and play solution with the Furrion adapter. If it were me I would go with the PWM filter # VGR64VR since it is a one and done install and it is guaranteed to fix the issue. The adapter is a part you will have to deal with every time you plug in your trailer. I have heard of a few cases where the Furrion adapter does not resolve the issue, so while they do work most of the time, it is not a product I have complete faith in.
