Brake Controller Install and Recommendation for 2012 Kia Sorento

Hi, I have a 2012 Kia Sorento LX-V6 with a factory installed trailer hitch and 4 way flat connector and I would like to change this to a 7 way connector and add a brake controller so that I can haul my [email protected] trailer approx. 1950lbs. Can you tell me what items I would need and if you have the items in stock at your Ontario warehouse? Thanks

The first step would be to choose a brake controller. I can highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is very reliable, is very highly rated by our customers and is simple to use. You would also need our Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The Kit contains everything needed to install the brake controller, including the 4-pole to 7-way adapter, all wire, hardware and circuit breakers.

I've linked you to install details for the ETBC7 Kit, as well as to an install video, showing an installation on a different Kia model. Even though the model vehicle is different, the procedure on your Sorento would be almost identical.
