Is There a B&W Gooseneck/Companion Hitch to Fit a 1971 Ford F-250

Question:

Dont laugh! : Im curious: might an under-bed gooseneck hitch work well in a 1971 F250 - camper special? Im most interested in one that would work with the BandW Companion 5th Wheel as well. Thank you!

Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out!

Definitely not laughing - I've seen some pretty crazy questions over the years and this doesn't even scratch the surface of crazy.

The B&W gooseneck hitches are made with custom mounting brackets, and while there aren't any designed specifically for a 1971 Ford F-250, you might be able to use the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks # BWGNRK1500 if you're willing/able to have some things modified on your truck. This is designed for cab and chassis trucks but it has to be welded in so if you have a shop look at this part and your truck they might be able to figure out a way for you to still get a B&W gooseneck on your pickup!

This would then enable you to use the Companion # BWRVK3050 but this is a shorter hitch at 10-1/2" so you'd need to make sure you'd be able to clear your truck bed sides.

You'll want to also figure out the max gooseneck/5th wheel weight rating for your truck as well. Your truck will be rated a lot lower than both styles so you don't want to overload it.
