Hello Gary.

For your 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with short bed it is recommended to have a sliding hitch to ensure that you can get around those really tight turns without damaging the cab of your truck. For a Curt sliding hitch I would recommend Curt A20 5th Wheel Hitch w/ S20 Slider for Ford and Chevy/GMC Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # C58ZJ, this would give you the rails to sit in your puck system, and the A20 would be installed right on the rails.

With that being said, the newer 5th wheels are being designed with rounded sides on the fronts to help with the clearance issues on the shorter beds, and the Curt Crosswing has a 5" offset as well. So if you do have the clearance, then the correct Curt CrossWing for 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD is the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford and Chevy/GMC Prep Package - 20K # C89PV, this too would give you the rails for your puck system and the Curt CrossWing would be installed on top of the rails.

@GaryL The Curt CrossWing for 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD is the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford and Chevy/GMC Prep Package - 20K # C89PV comes with everything you need to install it in the bed of your truck. Part # C89PV is a kitted part number. So it is going to come with the rails that fit directly into your puck system, and the Crosswing Hitch.
