We may have something that will work for you, but keep in mind, trailer hitch manufacturers do not make custom fit hitches for RVs and motor homes. A universal hitch is used and is typically bolted or welded to the frame of the RV and in some cases the mounting brackets have to be modified. You will also have to remove the existing hitch, but I recommend holding on to the mounting brackets as templates just in case the mounting brackets for the new hitch have to be modified.

I also recommend contacting Thor Motor Coach (the current manufacturer of Damon RVs) with your VIN to see if you can tow a trailer rated higher than 5,000 lbs if you have not done so already.

If you would like to install a trailer hitch with a higher weight rating, then I recommend looking at the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Hitch - 3 Inch Drop, # 15901, or the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Hitch - 13-1/2 Inch Drop, # 15902. These hitches have a maximum towing capacity of 12,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 1,200 lbs. The only difference between these hitches is the amount of drop they offer from the RV frame. If you have rear bumper fascia that extends more than 3 inches below the bottom of the frame, you will need the hitch with the longer mounting brackets.

These hitches require welding to install and it should be done by a qualified welder. Unfortunately we do not have any bolt-on trailer hitches with a towing capacity greater than 5,000 lbs.
