You are going to want to run a separate wire from the new back up light(s) to the trailer connector. Depending on the type of trailer connector is on the trailer and on the vehicle you may need different connectors or adapters which I can help with. I just need to know the type of connector on the trailer and tow vehicle.
For wire you can use # 16-1-1 which is sold in increments of 1 foot. So it you needed 20 feet you would enter 20 in the quantity box.
I also recommend using wire frame clips like # 464600 or loom claps like # A0250 to hold up the wires.
