We have several options in transmission coolers for your 1997 F-350 7.3L V8 Power Stroke diesel and all can be seen on the link provided. Coolers are not vehicle-specific so you can use as large a cooler as you have space to mount it. The linked articles will give you plenty of useful guidance about placement that will guide your choice.
If your truck uses 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch NPT trans-line type fittings you will need to use install kit # D13014; if it uses 1/2-inch-20 partial thread fittings you'll instead use install kit # D13024 along with the cooler of your choice.
If your truck uses one of the following transmissions, E4OD, 4R100, 5R100, or 5R100W, then you have the option of using a pan-type cooler # D14208 that adds over 7 quarts of additional fluid capacity to your transmission system. With this pan cooler you can use Derale Temperature Gauge Kit # D13009.
