Hitch Recommendation for 2009 Nissan Rogue to Carry Motorcycle Carrier

Hi, I need a trailer hitch to carry a motorcycle_carrier All together, with the motorcycle and the carrier, it will weigh a little over 500 lbs. I would like to purchase this product for my SUV: 75902 but I see the tongue weight is 300 lbs 500 lbs. Is this a concern? Thanks very much for your help!!

According to the information that I was able to obtain for your 2009 Nissan Rogue, it states that the Rogue has a tongue weight capacity of 150 pounds. Although the Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Hitch, # 75902, that you mentioned has a tongue weight rating of 300 pounds, you would be limited to the component with the lowest rating which would be the Rogue.

Although hauling your motorcycle in a hitch mounted carrier would exceed the tongue weight rating of the Rogue I have another option that may work for you. I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Hitch, # 75902, and hauling your motorcycle with a small, locally obtained, trailer.

If you plan on going with this option and your Rogue didn't come factory equipped with a 4 way trailer connector, you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118480, in order to operate lights on a trailer. This wiring harness quickly and easily installs by plugging directly into the existing taillight wiring. I am including a video of the wiring harness installation which may be of help to you.

In order to tow, you will also need a ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. We offer a kit, # 989900, that comes with everything that you will need including a handy carrying bag.
