Using Exhaust Tips to Redirect Exhaust Away From Cargo Carrier
Question:
installed the hitch and bought a cargo carrier for my 2010 ford edge sport. however it has dual rear exhausts...I read somewhere you can buy exhaust tips to route to side so the exhaust wont melt/burn the carrier.

An exhaust tip that re-directs the exhaust gasses downward can indeed help protect items carried on a cargo carrier from excess heat. Using a carrier like # 63153 that has an angled shank to raise the carrier further away from the exhaust pipes also helps.
If you click the provided link, you can see the various tips we have available. To choose the correct tip, you'll need to measure the outside diameter of your exhaust pipe. Most of the tips are weld-on applications, so you'd need to have a professional welder install the tip for you unless you choose the clamp on option.
