What is the distance from center of hitch pin hole to closest edge of carrier when carrier is NOT folded up?

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the Curt Cargo Carrier # C18100 when folded down is 8 inches.
When folded up that distance is 5 inches.
