Question:
Hi Im shopping for a hitch for my 2014 Acura RDX. I will primarily use it for a platform bike rack. Thule T2 rack. I was set on purchasing the CURT hitch, but I read the QandA about bike racks and it is recommended I use a support strap with the CURT. The 2 inch hitch has a 600 lbs tongue limit where as the other two racks only have 400 lbs. Seems to me, the extra stap is overkill and only necessary for warranty. I cannot see a reason why the Lock-Tight and Hidden Hitch cost more than the CURT. Input?

Some manufacturers are more conservative in their approach to safety and will therefore insist that extra measures are taken when using their products.
We do offer a few hitches that are designed to fit your 2014 Acura RDX. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 75784. This is a Class lll hitch and has a weight capacity of 400 lbs. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening.
The Curt hitch you referenced, part # C13130, is also a Class lll hitch and although requires the use of a strap like part # 18050, would still be less costly than the other hitches we offer. This hitch is also made in the USA, and has a limited lifetime warranty.
Any of the hitches we offer will work well with the Thule T2 Pro XTR, part # TH96TX, bike rack.
