Replacement Wiring Harness for 1999 Ford F-250 Light Duty Truck
Question:
Re: 1999 F-250 Light Duty, I need to replace the trailer wiring harness. Will the replacement harness for the 1999 super duty work or is there a specific replacement for the light duty?

Expert Reply:
If your 1999 Ford F-250 Light Duty truck came equipped with a factory 4-way, you will need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # C55256, to replace your wiring harness.
To upgrade a factory 4-way to a 7-way connector, you can use the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118242.
Finally, if your truck is equipped with a factory 7-way you will want to go with the Tow Ready Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 74682.
The wiring harnesses for the Super Duty were specifically designed for that style of truck and were not tested for use on the Light Duty model.
