Hitch Cargo Carrier for 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Edition with Factory Hitch
Question:
I want to purchase a trailer hitch cargo carrier for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk - this is different than a regular Cherokee - the factory installed hitch sits higher and is integrated into the bumper. Recommendations?

We offer hitch-mount cargo carriers for a range of hitch sizes and classes. You can check your owner's manual, with your dealership or look at the safety/warning sticker on the hitch to confirm its class and tongue weight rating. The hitch on your 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Edition is likely to be a 2-inch Class III type hitch. The linked article will provide additional information to help you confirm the hitch capacity.
Once you know this you will be able to select a hitch cargo carrier that both fits your hitch size and that has a compatible weight carrying capacity. (There's no sense buying a cargo basket that has much more weight capacity than your hitch, or your vehicle, since the lowest-rated item in the system will determine the overall capacity.)
I have linked two helpful articles on hitch carriers that will be a good starting point to consider the type that best meets your needs and that will provide a good fit at the rear of the Trailhawk. You can then use the link provided to review all available carriers, which include flat, folding and enclosed types, as well as carriers with ramps. The filters in the left margin will let you narrow the results to suit your preferences.
A great cost-effective fixed (non-folding) flat carrier from Curt is part # C18152, which offers excellent clearance from the hitch pin hole (14-1/2-inches) as well as an angled shank to provide better ground clearance when entering driveways or driving up an incline. A video on this carrier is linked for your reference.
