Would the Thule Roof Cargo Basket Extender make the Basket too Long for a Ford Explorer

Will this work on a 2002 Ford explorer, or is it for SUVs with longer wheelbases like Suburbans etc.?

The overall length of the Thule Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part # TH859XT, is 49 inches long. The extender, part # TH8591XT, adds 20 inches. This would bring the overall length of the rack to just 69 inches. I would take a tape measure length of the roof on your Explorer. You would then be able to see how the rack would fit on your roof. The rack attaches to the bars and the crossbars must be between 20 inches and 37 inches so the crossbars must be in that range of distance apart.
