Recommendation For Wiring Harness On 2014 Chevrolet Express Van
Question:
I have a 2014 express van. There is a factory plug just in front of the rear bumper. Nobody can figure out a trailer adapter to fit. It looks to be a flat 7 pin. Any ideas?

You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992, to find out what all of the functions are on the connector you have on your 2014 Chevrolet Express Van. If you find it does not have the functions that a trailer would use, we do have other options that will work for you.
If the plug you found at the rear of your van look like they would match the photo I have attached, then you can use the Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # HM40975. Using this will give you both a 4-way and a 7-way a connector at the rear of your van.
If you do not have the factory tow package on your van, I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118392. This plugs into the connectors located behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side. There is no cutting or splicing into the vehicle wiring for installation.
If you have the factory tow package, I recommend the Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 55540. This also plugs into the connectors found behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side.
If you are working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the connections and helps prevent corrosion.
I have attached a couple of helpful articles you may want to check out.
