Best Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Ram 1500 that Allows Bumper Cap to be Reinstalled
Question:
Im looking to purchase the Curt Class 3 hitch for my 2014 Ram 1500. My question I have is will the center bumper cap fit back in place over the 1/2inch hex headed bolt after its tightened down to the hitch? I want the install to look nice and clean and not a shiny brass bolt in the middle of my bumber showing.

Most owners do not have a problem reinstalling the bumper cap. But some owners cannot reinstall the cap after installing Curt trailer hitch # 13333 on a 2014 Ram 1500. It is possible that on your truck, if you do end up having difficulty, that the hitch could be pulled up tighter to the bumper causing the cap not to fit back on.
If this happens to you what you can try is to run the bolt in and out a few times to see if it can seat lower in its spot. You can also try changing the order when tightening the bolts because that can affect the position of the hitch.
If you have never removed the cap before you may need to clean it and where it fits because some dirt or debris could be causing some fit issues.
Another option is to use # 13374 which does not require that bumper attachment point.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop, 1-7/8 inch and 2 inch balls, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included to the right that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
If you need to add trailer wiring you can use # C59496 to add a 4-Way flat.
