Can the Curt Hitch # C13073 Handle 575 lbs of Tongue Weight

Question:

I want to get a hitch with a 2 in receiver for a Kia sorento 2013 SX so that I can attach a tailgate seat, but all I find are hitches with a max tongue Weight of 350 lbs. Am I correct to assume that I would not be able to use it for this purpose if two 250 lb guys are sitting on it plus the hitch seat at about 75lbs? What are my options?

All of the hitches available for your 2013 Kia Sorento will have a max tongue weight rating of 350 lbs like the Curt hitch part # C13073 that you referenced. Because of that I cannot safely recommend you put 575 lbs of tongue weight on the hitch.

Looks like you'll have to either find a different vehicle or use lawn chairs.
