Its hard to tell from the pictures but is the 4way connector male or female? Is that a protective cover over the connector? Thank you,

The 4-way that attaches to the RoadMaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120 is a female connector. It also comes with an extension piece that has a male end as well that does have a protective cover.
