Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2006 Ford F-150 with Factory Installed 4-Way Flat Connector

To convert the factory 4-Way flat trailer connector on the back of your 2010 Ford F-150, you will need Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185. You will plug the factory 4-Way into the back of the adapter and hardwire the remaining 4 wires. See diagram to the right.

A trailer wiring installation kit # HM51020 is a great addition because it includes a multipurpose wire tool, 12-V LED circuit tester, terminal cleaner, connectors, ring and fork terminals, zip-ties, ground screws, and more.
