Replacement Axle Kit for Custom 5 x 8 Trailer that Has 60-Inch Spring Centers

Question:

I have a custom-built 5x8foot trailer that needs a new axle kit. But the spring centers are 60. The springs are mounted flush to the exterior side of the trailer bed. Do you have any products that would work on this trailer? I am looking for a 2000-lb to 3500-lb rated axle.

All of the axles and axle kits we offer use standard spring center spacing of 48-, 58- or 74-inches, such as the Dexter # T20BTR-EZ-7258 which has 58-inch spring centers. The link at right will let you see the entire category. Filters in the left margin let you sort the results.

The exceptions are universal-fit axle-less suspension systems from Timbren, such as their # A35RS545 which is rated for 3500-lbs. Timbren axle-less systems fit any frame width and bolt or weld into place. These unique suspension systems allow for maximum ground clearance and lower trailer deck height, which lead to reduced roll when cornering. Timbren universal systems can be seen using the second link at right.

Since you trailer is custom made it may need some structural reinforcement to enable use of the axle-less systems. On our product page for each of these Timbren kits we include guidance regarding the installation and the steps you might take to prep your trailer.
