Options For Mounting License Plate To Front Mount Hitch On 2000 Ford Excursion

Question:

The front-mount hitch works great - was very easy to install and is almost invisible now. Actually, its completely invisible since we had to reinstall the front license plate got a ticket :- Ive tried to find a flip-downinch license plate holder so we can still access the hitch, but nothing seems to fit on the Excursion. What options do I have for putting the front license plate back on and still being able to use the hitch? Thanks!

Sorry to hear you got a ticket for the removed license plate on your 2000 Ford Excursion, but we may have an option that will work for you.

One option I recommend is our Fold Down License Plate Holder, part # 8802. This mounts to the license plate mounting holes on Excursion and folds down so that you have access to the front mounted hitch. I have attached a photo of the holder and have the mounting dimensions noted on the photo you can check out. The lower mounting holes are 7-1/2 inches apart center-to-center and the upper holes the license plate attaches to are 7 inches apart.

Another option we offer is the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch License Plate Holder, part # C31002. The license plate is mounted to the holder and then installed in the front receiver opening.

If you need a pin and clip to secure the holder to the hitch I recommend part # PC3. This includes the pin and clip. for a locking hitch pin I recommend part # e98880.
