Review of Bearing Buddy Grease Caps BB1980A-SS

Today we're going to take a look at the stainless steel bearing buddy protectors. This part is for a quantity for 2. The bearing buddy design is a very easy way to protect your barrings by keeping water out and ensuring enough grease is in the hub. These are great for marine applications. The stainless steel construction will provide the best in corrosion resistant. These are designed to replace the grease cap that's in your axle hub. This will help prevent wheel bearing failure.

What it does is it will keep water and dirt out of your hubs and your bearings. It allows your boat trailer wheels to be completely submerged in the water. It'll stop corrosion and pitting on your bearings. It provides this nice easily acceptable grease fitting right here. It makes adding grease to the bearings very quick and simple. It does maintain a slight controlled pressure.

About 3 PSI with the spring loading piston. It prevents water from entering the hub. It does allow visual monitoring of grease levels with the blue indicator ring right in there. The ring will sit flushed with the top of the cylinder when it's full. If the ring is below the top, you just add a little grease to move the piston outward.

It also prevents overfilling and rear seal damage with automatic pressure relief feature. The grease will seep out around the piston edges and in to the barrel when it's full. Again, this is constructed of stainless steel. It ensures a longer lasting fit than your plastic or aluminum products like this. It does include the rubber covers that go over it. It installs very easily.

You just tap them on like your grease cap. They are made in the USA. Specs on this, it's designed to fit the 1.98 hub boar. Basically that's this part here that taps in to your hub. Just to give you an idea, there's the 1.98. It is designed to work with hubs that have outer bearing part numbers of L44643, L44649 and L44640. Those bearings are usually commonly found on 2,000 pound, 2,500 pound and 3,500 pound dexter axles. That should do it for the review on the stainless steel bearing buddy bearing protectors for a quantity of 2.
