Review of Bulldog Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Adapters BD0289640300

Today we'll be reviewing part number BD0289640300. This is the Bulldog Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter. It's going to have a weight capacity of twenty-five thousand pounds. The Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter lets you tow your gooseneck trailer with a 5th wheel hitch. The round inner tube will fit most standard round gooseneck outer tubes. Tube diameter's going to measure four inches from outer edge to outer edge.

This is a direct replacement for the inner tube on Bulldog Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Coupler Adapter, part number BD0289580300. That's going to be sold separately. It does have the adjustable height with the four hole design. The distance from the center of one hole to the center of the other is going to measure two and three quarters of an inch, and that's going to be the same distance between each hole. It's made from a durable steel construction with a nice raw finish on it. Again, that outer tube's going to give us a diameter of four inches, weight capacity, twenty-five thousand pounds.

The plate here at the base is going to give us a measurement of eleven inches by fourteen inches. Then the kingpin's going to be the industry standard two inch diameter. That's going to do it for our review of part number BD0289640300. This is the Bulldog Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter. .

Why it didn’t fit the first hole it sits to high on the second hole.

Hi Marco, so one set of holes is to high and the next set is to low? Can you email me a picture so I can see exactly what you are dealing with.

What is the measurement from the top of the gussets to the center-line of the lowest adjustment hole?

Victoria B.

I spoke with my contact at Bulldog to find the clearance between the top of the gusset and the centerline of the bottom most hole and found that this spacing is right around 1 inch.

What is the measurement from the first pin hole to the bottom of the plate? And this setup should work on a standard semi truck connection?

From the center of the lowest adjustment hole to the bottom side of the skid plate is about 5". I confirmed this with my contact at Bulldog.

The info on the BD0289640300 said it was offset what does that mean

Etrailer Expert

Rachael H.

This trailer coupler inner tube adapter has the pin holes offset by 15 degrees to match other outer tubes on gooseneck trailers that also have the 15 degree offset. If your trailer does not have these offset pin holes, then you will want to use the set screws.
