CUB Blind Spot Detection - Towable Camper - CU85XR Review

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the blind spot monitoring system for the 20 foot long towable campers, travel trailers, and 5th wheels. Now, this system here will monitor your blind spots for increased safety while you're traveling with your towable camper, your travel trailer, or your 5th wheel setup. Did mention this is compatible with most of the 20 foot long trailer types. Does include a 20 foot long trailer harness.

And this system is designed to work in areas that have low reception, such as tunnels or mountains. Want to zoom in, we're gonna go over all the parts here. Does include everything laid out here on the table. We'll start with the display indicator. This includes the mounting bracket.

As you can see, I've just clipped it on there. But you can use this to install this indicator, so you'll be able to see it. You can install it to your windshield. You can turn it around and install it to your dash. It is fully adjustable, so you can put it in the position you need to see it.

Does come with the control unit. Right here, these are the left and right radar sensors. Comes with the gaskets for installation. Comes with all the system harnesses you need. Also has this OBD-II harness.

Comes with the hardware and connectors for installing everything. And a nice installation guide and operation guide that will describe how everything installs and how it operates. Now, the monitor, this is a nice LED monitor. Provides audio and visual alerts. It in, the indicators alert you to which side of the warning by blinking and emitting an audible tone for that side. Now, we mentioned these radar sensors right here, they come as a left and right and radar sensor, and they have, will be marked. They are equipped with blind spot detection and lane change alert system. It does, these do mount at the rear corners of your trailer, and they do use a radar frequency of 24 gigahertz. Now, the blind spot detection they use, it'll monitor adjacent lanes for up to 75 feet, and it automatically activates when your vehicle exceeds 15 miles an hour. The lane change alert will monitor adjacent lanes and indicate when your vehicle is within the warning zone. These activate with the use of your turn signals when your vehicle exceeds 15 miles per hour also. They will even detect vehicles approaching at high speeds within two seconds of potential impact. Now, this is a simple installation. As we mentioned, comes with the included connectors, all the wiring you need. The harness here connects to your OBD-II system, and this will work with your vehicle's diagnostic system to ensure accurate readings. All of these use automotive-grade weathertight connectors. Now, this system is ISO 17387 Type III, blind spot detection system standards compliant. But that should do it for the review on this blind spot monitoring system for the 20 foot long towable campers, travel trailers, and 5th wheels..
