Review of Carr Truck Bed Accessories CARR183062

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Carr hitch mounted step for 2 inch trailer hitches. This unit is going to provide quick and easy access to your vehicles truck bed, cargo area or roof rack. You can see how that step just folds down and it flips up when it's not in use for a nice, clean, finished look. You can see right there it's got the Carr name and logo located on the bottom of the step. That's going to show when the step is in the folded up position. It's also got a nice protected finish over the logo to keep it safe from fading, chipping and scratching.

This is going to offer sure footing with a nice, nonslip surface. You can see that traction design right there. This part is going to be the part that slides into the trailer hitch receiver. It's just going to do a great job at keeping out dirt and grime and also adds a clean, finished look to your hitch and it gives you easy access to them sometimes hard to reach areas. It is going to require a pin and clip or a hitch lock to secure it inside the hitch. Those items are sold separately.

It will accept a standard 5/8 inch diameter pin. It's got 2 pin hole locations to choose from, so you just choose whatever one works best for your application. The units going to feature a black powder coated aluminum construction. It's very strong and durable and it's going to be highly resistant to rust and corrosion. It's made right here in the U.S.A. It is designed for a 2 inch by 2 inch trailer hitch receiver.

The step platform is going to give us an overall width measurement of pretty close to 5 inches. Then a width or depth of 2 3/4 of an inch. The distance that we have from the back of the plate to the center of each pinhole measuring to that closest one is going to be right around 2 7/16 of an inch and then to that rear one we're looking at about 3 3/16 or 3 1/8, right in that area, just to give you an idea of how far these mount holes or pinholes are from the back of the unit. Overall, it's a really nice design. It's going to be covered by a limited life time warranty and it's going to feature a weight capacity of 650 pounds. It's a really easy installation.

I'm going to show you how it installs. All you got to do is place it inside the receiver 2 hitch, push it in until you hear the pinholes line up and then secure it with the hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock. Then when you are done using the step, just flip it up and it acts as a hitch cover. That's going to do it for today's look at the car hitch mount step for 2 inch trailer hitches.
