Review of Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring C57008

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt 7-foot long 5th wheel/gooseneck custom wiring harness, with the 7-way connector for aluminum beds. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2015 and newer Ford F-150 vehicles that have the aluminum bed and a factory 7-way. This part will provide a 7-way blade style connector in your truck bed to give you hassle free hookup of a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. The connector will mount in the truck bed sidewall, the tailgate post, or the wheel well. When you do connect all this, it will retain your factory 7-way connector at the rear of your truck, if you already have one there.

Basically, this wiring harness will plug into your factoring wiring, so there's no cutting or slicing the wires. Basically what you'll do, is just unplug the harness from behind your 7-way that's on the truck now. Plug this into that. Plug this into your other side of your harness that you unplugged, and then you'll run this portion, the 7-foot length, all the way up to the truck bed and connect it to this connector in the truck bed. Now this is a 7-foot long insulated wiring harness that'll reach from the rear bumper to the truck bed. Again, as I mentioned, it does require that your truck has the factory tow package that this can plug into.

This is custom fit for your vehicle. Now this wiring harness will include this galvanic corrosion kit. What that does, is when you install this on a vehicle that has an aluminum bed, you don't want to use these self-tapping screws that come with the regular wiring harness, because you'll get some corrosion between that and the aluminum bed. What you need to do when you install this on an aluminum bed is to go to install this, you'll go ahead and drill holes. This comes with the four stainless steel bolts, and then these four rubber well nuts to install.

Basically the rubber well nuts will separate the stainless steel bolts from your aluminum truck bed to help prevent that galvanic corrosion. When you go and install this connector, drill your holes, put these in the holes, and then using these stainless steel bolts, attach this to the truck bed. Again, the harness length on this is 7-foot in length. It does come with a nice set of detailed instructions on how to install all this. That should do it for the review on the Curt 7-foot long 5th wheel/gooseneck wiring harness, with the 7-way connector for aluminum beds.
