Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring - C56000 Review

Today I'm going to take a look at the Curt 10-foot long fifth-wheel gooseneck custom wiring harness with the 7-way connector. This is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit many of the Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge, and Ford trucks with the factory 7-way connector, starting in 1997. It will also work on the Nissan Titan and Titan XD trucks with the factory 7-way, starting in 2004, and the Toyota Tundra trucks with the factory 7-way, starting in 2010. Because it fits so many different vehicles, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model of vehicle, and it will show you if this will work for your application. This harness will provide the 7-way blade style connector in your truck bed for a nice hassle-free hookup of your fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailers. The connector itself will mount in your truck bed sidewall, tailgate post, or wheel well.

It easily allows you to plug in the 7-way from your fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer to the connector, instead of having to try to make your connection all the way back to the factory 7-way on your rear bumper. This will plug into the factory wiring. There is no cutting or slicing required. This is a 10-foot long insulated wiring harness which will reach from the rear bumper to the truck bed. If you notice the plugs here that you plug in, they have a right angle to them, so it makes it very easy to make your connections. Now, it does require that the truck has a 7-way factory tow package that you can connect to.

When you do plug this in, it will retain your factory 7-way connector at the rear of the truck. Again, it is custom fit for your vehicle. To install this connector will require a 2 1/8" diameter hole for installation. It does include the cable ties that take up any slack in the wiring, some self-capping stainless steel screws to install your 7-way to your vehicle, and a nice set of detailed instructions that will describe how to install everything. You notice on the 7-way itself it has a nice spring-loaded dust cover, which will automatically close to help keep your connector clean when it's not in use.

The loom on this is a nice slit wire loom, keeps your wires contained and well-protected. Again, the harness length on this is 10 feet.Basically, what you want to do to install this, this part here will install into your truck bed. Then, this will plug into that, just like that. This wire will run all the way down, and then you'll go and gain access to your factory 7-way, which is on your rear bumper. Behind the 7-way, you'll pull out your wiring harness, and that will plug into this portion right here.

Once that harness is plugged in, then you'll take this right-angle plug here, plug that into the back of the factory 7-way, and your system will be all ready to go.That should do it for the review on the Curt 10-foot long fifth-wheel gooseneck custom wiring harness with the 7-way connector.
