Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - C89CR Review

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at and we're taking a quick look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness. This gives you a usable four-pole flat at the back of your vehicle, so you can connect to your trailer or any other accessory that uses a four-pole flat. That gives you your left and right turn signals, as well as your running lights and your brake light signals. So very important to make sure that other drivers can see what's going on around you. Some cargo carriers will also use that or other accessories that need to have those light signals.

So this will work for that as well. The nicest thing about this kit is that it's going to give you that signal without having to worry about cutting into your vehicle's wiring. You're not making any modifications to the wiring overall. It's just going to plug right in line with what you already have and give you that functional four pole at the back of your vehicle. So let's take a closer look at what actually comes in the kit and more or less how it's going to get installed. This is a custom fit for the 2020 through the current year model of the Hyundai Venue.

So you'll need to get access to your tail lights. Plug these guys in line. This is where it gets that name of a T-connector, since this makes a T. And you'll just put one end into the tail light, and then the other end into the wiring harness. The green wire goes on the passenger's side.

Yellow, brown, and red goes on the driver's side. Here's our four-pole flat. We do get a dust cover to seal that up, keep it protected from any kind of dirt and debris. Also get some bulk wire to run our power wire up to the battery, and then a fuse holder to go in between. So our system is going to be isolated from any kind of issues. We won't have to worry about any transfer of shorts or anything like that from our vehicle's wiring to the trailer and vice versa.

The box protects us from that as well as the fuse holder with the 10 amp fuse. It comes with some zip ties, butt connectors, and some double-sided foam tape. That tape helps you to mount this in a nice secure spot. You want to use those zip ties whenever you're running the bulk wire, to make sure that it doesn't hang down below the vehicle or get snagged anywhere. And you want to keep that away from anything hot or moving like your suspension or exhaust. As far as specs with this, the stop and turn lights, we'll have three amps per circuit. The tail lights will have six amps per circuit. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right wiring for you. We do have a lot of other accessories here at for all kinds of towing needs. So check them out. Thanks for watching.
