Dexter Axle Trailer Hubs and Drums - Idler Hub Kit for 5,200 Lb Trailer Axles - 008-213-9B Review

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this Dexter trailer idler hub assembly. This is going to provide a hub for your 5,200 pound idler axle on your trailer. This will provide not only the hub, but also all of the components that you see here that you'll need to get the hub installed and operating properly. The hub itself is a nice sturdy iron construction. It's got a weight capacity of 3000 pounds, so it's going to be more than enough for your 5,200 pound axle.

This is made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust the in products that are made here in the US.This will work for your 14 inch to 16 and a half inch wheels. It's got a bolt pattern of six on five and a half, so there's six of these half inch diameter by two inch long studs, and they are five and a half inches from one to the other, center on center, so should work for your tires and wheels that have that kind of spacing for them. This is also going to include your inner and outer bearing. So your inner bearing is going to be this larger one. This is a 25580 inner bearing.

So if you look on here, you can see that number right up there at the top. So if you're replacing one, can look for that number, make sure that this is going to be the exact replacement that you're going to need. You'll want to make sure that you pack that with enough grease to keep everything well lubricated, and then you'll just insert that into your race there. And then you'll install your double lip grease seal to keep everything installed where you need it.Our outer bearing is going to be this LM67048 part number. It's got an inner diameter of an inch and a quarter, and that will install on this outer race here, work just fine for you.

Now that grease seal that I pointed out, that is going to be a double lip grease seal, so you can see on the black portion there, kind of a division there, and the spring on the back side allows you to have tension on that inner lip. This has an inner diameter of two, a quarter of an inch, and an outer diameter of about three and three eights of an inch, so it is going to work great. Get that all sealed up so that all your grease stays where it needs to be. We're also going to have our grease cap to put on the outside to seal everything up, and of course our six half inch 20 lug nuts that will allow us to connect our wheel to our hub here so that our trailer can work properly. So this is just going to be the one side of your trailer. If you're needing to replace both sides, you'll obviously need a second set, but everything that is listed here is going to work together to allow you to have your 5,200 pound idler axle operational again.

So that's going to complete our look for it today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com, thanks for watching.
