Review of Dexter Trailer Hubs and Drums 84546UC3

Today were going to review part number 84546UC3. This is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500 pound axles with the 5 on 4 inch bolt pattern. This trailer hub and drum assembly will fit most 3,500 pound axles including the Dexter. The dimensions on it is 10 inches in diameter, 2 inches wide. The bolt pattern is the 5 lugs on 4 inch bolt pattern. This hub and drum assembly does come with the lug nuts, does come with the inner bearing which is part number L68149, comes with the outer bearing which is part number L44649, comes with the greased seal, part number 58846, and it also comes with the grease cap.

Now the races are included and they are already installed. You can see the outer race which is in there. If I turn it over you can see right in here the inner race. Those will come all pre-installed so the bearings will slide right in. Basically, as youll see the outer bearing will fit right in there, and the inner bearing will fit right into that race.

The seal will actually have to be installed right in there after the bearing is put in, and then the grease cap is what will go over the outer bearing. And as you can see the lug nuts, you can screw right on to the wheel studs. Again, the weight capacity on this one hub and drum assembly is 1,750 pounds so when you use this with the other one, two of them on an axle, it will have a capacity for the 3,500 pound axle. And, just to show you that measurement we had talked about. The diameter is measured inside to inside for your brake assembly so it would use a 10 inch diameter brake assembly; and then the width for the brake shoe would be measured from here to here.

So, if we put that on it would be 2 . So it will use a brake assembly that is 10 inch diameter by 2 wide. And that should do it for the review on part number 84546UC3. This is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for a 3,500 pound axle.

You're going to want to shoot for the 90-100 ft-lb range for aluminum wheels, and then 90-120 ft-lb for steel wheels.
