Review of Draw-Tite Accessories and Parts 6300

Today we're going to review part number 6300. This is the Draw-Tite Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch. Now this gooseneck trailer hitch, when the ball is removed, will allow full use of your pickup bed area when hauling cargo. There's no alteration of the factory OE exhaust system required and it does accommodate all standard vehicle suspensions. It does come with this 2 5/16th diameter forged, heat-treated zinc ball to use for your gooseneck. Has a spring-loaded chrome sliding pin right here that you pull up and slide to open it up and remove the ball.

It is lockable. In other words, once you like the hole up, slide this pin down, there's a hole right here that you can put a padlock through. This will prevent any ball theft. Now the lock is not included. You would have to purchase that separately. Does come with this magnetic cover, which will protect the ball hole and the activating lever slot when not in use.

When you have the ball in use, you can take this magnetic cover and put it over the Z-slot and that will keep any grime from getting down to that lever. When you remove the ball, pull up on your lever. Let it slide all the way out. You can remove the ball and then slide it back into place. You can actually use this magnetic cover to cover the whole thing in your bed.

That way it keeps any grime or dirt if you're hauling cargo from actually getting into the hole and even the Z-slot. Now this is a in-truck platform. This may be used with rail kits or installed on any vehicle that has adequate structure to secure the platform. This in-truck platform is rated for 30,000 pound gross trailer weight and 7,500 pounds vertical load weight. It is tested to the VESC 19, which is the Vehicle Equipment Safety Commission testing, for 30,000 pound gross vehicle weight rating. It does have also on the back here ...

I'm going to try to turn this and show you if we rotated this. This will be closest to the cab. You can see it has the spring-loaded safety chain loops are all included. Put your safety chains through there and since they are spring-loaded, it will pull them and hold them into place. Just swing this around. It is marked on here. It says, "Vehicle forward," so your tow vehicle would be here. Your gooseneck trailer would be right here. What you can do is pull up on this lever, just like that. Slide it all the way open, so the pin opens up. Drop the ball. You can see the hole right here. Drop the ball into place, so the pin will line up. Push it back in and that locks it and holds it into place. Now it does come with all the hardware you need to install it onto the vehicle. That should do it for the review on part number 6300. This is the Draw-Tite Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch.
