Erickson Recovery and Tow Straps - Retractable Tow Strap - EM79201 Review

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm going to take a look at this Erickson 15 foot long retractable tow strap with the hooks, and it has a 1,333 pound working load limit. Now this tow strap will let you pull disabled vehicles. It's designed for pulling race cars around the pit area, but it can also be used to tow ATVs, UTVs and golf carts. As you can see it as a nice retractable design. It has a spring loaded recoil system to collect slack and to keep the webbing tightly stored.

So when you do hook up there's no dragging or running over any tow straps when your towing vehicle slows down. You can see on the side has this nice ring that you can pull out as much strap as you need and then when you get it out to where you need it you just use this hook on this end to hook it up to the vehicle and you release it, it takes up all the slack. If you notice the hooks on both ends they're a nice sync finish on them. Now the hook on the strap itself has this nice spring loaded keeper on it to prevent it from disconnecting after it's hooked up. The strap dimension itself, the width is one and one quarter inches. The length we mentioned is going to be 15 foot long.

Brake strength on it is 4,000 pounds. A safe working load limit is 1,333 pounds. Now, one note I do want to mention is the weight of the tow vehicle must not exceed the safe working load limit of the strap that's being used. So again, if you just grab it right here and you pull out as much strap as you need, release it, right here is your hook to hook it up.But that should do it for the review on the Ericsson 15 foot long retractable tow strap with the hooks and a 1,333 pound working load limit.
