Fantastic Vent RV Vents and Fans - Roof Vent Upgrade Kit - FV807357 Review

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we are taking a look at the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Assembly Upgrade Kit. Now this is for those people who have a existing roof vent and a fan assembly, but they want to be able to upgrade it from a manual to an automatic one. This is going to give us a rain sensor to detect any snow or rain that's falling on to our RV and then close our lid automatically. Also, whenever we turn on the fan, it'll automatically open up the lid so we can get that fresh air in and get the hot or stale air out of our RV, our enclosed trailer, whatever the case might be that we have this installed on.It's really designed to be an upgrade to an existing kit that you already have. If you don't already have a vent in your vehicle and you want to add it in, or maybe cut out a hole for this, you probably want to get just a complete assembly to do that instead of having an upgrade kit, and then you have to buy additional parts for that.

We've got a lot of options available here for complete kits. If you want to check those out, definitely do so. Again, this is going to be an upgrade kit to an existing part that you already have.If you just have that manual vent that you've having to lift and lower by hand by cranking on that little knob, this is going to eliminate that issue for you. We'll have our assembly here. It has the screen to keep out bugs and leaves and dirt or leaves and twigs and things like that so we don't get them into our trailer.

Then we'll still have a manual knob to lift and lower that lid in the case of a power failure. It has the crank arm there as well so that'll just attach in there and allow that to lift and lower our dome lid. Now the dome lid and the motor are sold separately so if you need a new one of those, you will have to purchase those separately, as I mentioned. We'll also get the hardware to get this actually in place. You can see the rain sensor, the moisture sensor. We'll get a wall-mounted remote so we can control everything from a little ways away rather than having to come right underneath and control everything there.

Has a little bracket, so you can just hang this on the wall, keep it up and out of the way, and then have it when you need it. So we'll be able to adjust the fan speed, our temperature, lift the vent lid up and down, and then change the direction of our fan or make our air flow in or out. Also comes with the batteries, two AA batteries, to get that powered up and the screws for that wall-mounted bracket. We'll have a couple of electrical connections to make, and with our power we'll need, of course, 12-volt power and ground. Does come with two butt connectors to make those connections. Everything else should be just connecting in with our other components, like our motor on our fan and our vent.

This little assembly does come separately so you'll have to put that in place, and you'll want to route the rain sensor up through the fan blades or up to the top so that it actually can sense the rain or sense the moisture as it comes down.So relatively simple install. Again, hardware to get this mounted up. It works for a rough opening size of 14-1/4" by 14-1/4", which is pretty much the standard size for any roof vent on an RV or a enclosed trailer or anything like that, and it works with roofs that are up to 4" thick. It is made in the U.S.A.That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Assembly Upgrade Kit. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right kit for you. Again, as I mentioned, we've got a lot of options available here at etrailer.com for complete assemblies and all other things RV, so definitely check those out. Thanks for watching.
