Review of Flex-a-lite Transmission Coolers FLX4112

Today we're going to take a look at the Flex-a-lite Translife Transmission Cooler Kit. This one has the three eighths inch barb fittings on the inlet and outlet and is a class I rating. Now this Translife transmission cooler kit will provide additional cooling to protect your automatic transmission. Cooler transmission oil gives you more reliable consistent shifts and it prevents transmission damage under extreme towing conditions. This kit includes everything shown here on the table. The transmission cooler itself, four foot rubber hose with the hose clamps, the male and female hose adapters, all the mounting hardware and a nice set of detailed installation instructions on how to install this.

Now the tubes on this, the brass tubes are a half inch diameter tube and on the inside of the tubes they actually use a high twist turbulator design, and basically what that does is as the fluid flows through it, it actually causes it to twist or twirl through here and that will improve the heat transfer as it goes through the heat exchanger. The fittings on here again are three eighths inch barb fittings on both inlet and outlet. This is a four pass configuration and basically that just means you'll see the fluid goes through four times to cool. It is made of an aerospace epoxy construction and this is a class I rated cooler. I do want to give you some dimensions on the cooler itself. The width, we're going to measure from the end of the tube to the end of this tube, and if we put a tape measure on that, you can see it's going to be right at fifteen inches.

The heighth from the very bottom to the very top is right at five inches tall, and then the depth is going to be right at three quarters of an inch deep. That should do it for the review of the Flex-a-lite Translife Transmission Cooler Kit with the three eights inch barb fitting and the class I rating.
