Furrion RV Side Marker Light and Camera System - FCE48TASL Review

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Furrion RV marker light and side camera. This is going to be designed for use with your Furrion Vision S Backup Camera System with either the five inch screen or the seven inch screen. Adding these onto that Vision S system is going to help to show the sides of your RV or camper. So, you're going to be aware of vehicles coming up beside you, or as you're making your way into your lot at the camp site.

Now this will be a great benefit for you. These will replace your clearance lights on your RV or camper. These are a D.O.T. compliant waterproof marker light. And then it is going to provide this camera so that you have increased visibility and be able to detect objects and obstacles that are coming up close to you.

This gives you a 65 degree viewing angle so that you can better see what's going on. It's going to help minimize those blind spots on both sides, help prevent accidents, potentially causing injury, that sort of thing. These are motion detected activated, so, motion detection activated, so they are going to trigger your monitor to turn on, power on, when things are in their field of view. These do use CMOS sensors that create a nice high quality, 720 by 480 digital video in full color. They have an integrated IR cut filter.

That's gonna block your infrared light during the day to help create a nice natural looking image. And then you can see, we do have these 12 infrared led lights on the camera's housing that provide the nighttime vision up to 39 feet. So day or night, you're still going to be able to see through there. This is going to have a nice durable metal construction that is both dust and water resistant. This is going to have an IP rating of six five.

So it is ready to protect against dust and low pressure water jet spray. So even if you're in a torrential downpour, lots of rain coming down, or if you're cleaning off your camper for the season using a pressure washer, this will hold up really well for you, you won't have to worry about that. As far as our dimensions go, I measure this right at five and three quarters of an inch. That's an awful measurement, depiction there for you. Let me try again. So I'm holding this up for the camera, kind of see, up to where that edge of our camera is, right at five and three quarters of an inch. Kind of looks like closer to six for the camera, but right about five and three quarters when I measured it. Our width we're looking at, right at one and three quarters of an inch deep. And then our height, probably going to be easiest to see, right, three and three eighths of an inch tall. It's going to be very simple to get these installed, very minimal drilling. Basically just remove your original side-marker lights, clearance lights, put this one in the same place. The mounting hardware is not included. They do recommend using eight flat head number six by three quarter inch self drilling screws. To get these mounted in place. You can see the wire on the back here. We do have labels to help us get everything connected properly. So it should be very easy. They also include instructions to walk you through how to get everything installed. There are about five inches of wire on each light and these will plug into your 12 volt or 24 volt DC system to provide the power to send that signal to your monitor. So you can see what's going on on the sides of your RV or camper. So really nice option to help to make you more aware, allow you greater visibility so that you feel safer and that you are gonna actually be safer, being able to see what's going on around you. So really nice add-on to that system that you already have. If you don't already have that system, you will need it, have that monitor and whatnot to work, to use this. We do have that available here at etrailer.com as well. So overall, really nice option to add on to that other Furrion system. That's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

I am not aware of a way to display the Furrion Side Marker Light Cameras on the in-dash display. These cameras are designed to display on the Furrion Vision S Backup Camera System which can either be a 5 inch # FOS05TASF or 7 inch # FOS07TASF monitor.
