Review of Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Locks 325-GH-7111

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Gen-Y Auto Latch Gooseneck Coupler Lock. Now, this lock is designed to deter theft of your trailer by preventing unwanted hookup. This bracket right here . This bracket surrounds the base of your gooseneck coupler. This large, we're just going to call it a large pin, goes through that slot there, and it goes up into the coupler area. Then to lock it in place, you take this lock here, place the key in, and you turn it counterclockwise to disengage the lock from the pin. Place the pin through, and then you take the lock, and you place it back onto the pin.

Then you turn the key clockwise to secure it. Then you can remove it and place on the dust cap. That locks it inside the coupler area. It prevents this piece from being able to come out, and prevents the unit from being removed from the gooseneck coupler, until it's unlocked. We're looking at a heavy-duty steel construction. The pin is made from steel, that lock mechanism and pin. It's got a protective finishing on it to keep it safe from rust and corrosion, and then this unit right here has a zinc primer and powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion. It's made in the USA.

A key is included. This is designed most auto-latching gooseneck couplers with up to a 25,000 pound capacity. When it comes to the overall dimensions of the unit, I took a measurement of the overall width, got a measurement of around 6-1/4 to 6-3/8". Overall height measured around 4", and then the overall length, that's from front to back, to this point back here, that gives us a measurement of about 7-3/4 to 7-7/8" long. And then that pin diameter for that lock pin is 5/8".But that's going to do it for today's look at the Gen-Y Auto Latch Gooseneck Coupler Lock..
