Review of Hickory RV Steps RV and Camper Steps 98224RFALC1

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Hickory Springs Manual Pull-Out Steps for RVs. The manually operated RV steps make it easy to get into and out of your motorhome. You simply pull them out for use, and position them back in place for travel. When you move it to a stowed position, it automatically engages and locks into place, and then in the use position, it automatically engages as well.To move it to the stowed position, you take this step, fold it up. Slide it into place, and that's all there is to it. When you're ready to move it to the end use position, grab right here.

It's got that nice sticker right there that says "Pull to Open". Then you grab this other platform and drop it down. Now as you can see, this unit contains two steps or two platforms. Each step features two grip strips for sure footing and safety when entering and exiting your RV. There's also three holes located on the top of each platform, so that's going to allow dirt and moisture to have a way to escape off of the platform surface. The platforms are made from anodized aluminum. They're very lightweight and rust-proof.

The lightweight design makes extending and retracting the steps quick and easy. The frame and the linkages are all made from steel and feature a black powder coated finish, so the unit's very strong and durable and it's going to resist rust and corrosion, looking good for a long time. Also with the style, it features a curved radius front edge. It offers a nice sleek look. It's an easy bolt on or weld on installation. It mounts to the RV frame in the same manner as your factory step.

Mounting hardware not included for bolt on application, but all of the mount holes are pre-drilled, so that makes the installation a little easier. There's two mount holes located on top of each bracket. The product is made in the USA.When it comes to the dimensions, each platform measures 24 inches wide by 8 and 1/2 inches deep. The mounting bracket, I took a measurement from edge to edge and got a measurement of 27 and 1/2 inches wide. At the deepest point or widest point, I got a measurement of 12 inches deep.

And in here on top, it kind of tapers in, so edge to edge is 9 inches, and then edge to edge right there at the narrower area is 8 inches. The side brackets have an overall height of around 10 and 3/4 inches. Then again, I mentioned that you have two bolt holes on top of each side plate. These holes are separated on center, going this direction by 26 to 26 and 1/4 inches, and then front to back by 7 inches. When it comes to the drop and rise from the mounting area to the top of this platform, you have a drop and rise of about 5 and 3/4 inches, and then from this one to this one, it's about 9 and 1/2 inches. The unit features a weight capacity of 300 pounds, but just always keep in mind the weight capacity is dependent on the location of your installation area, the capacity of the installation area, and the materials used for the installation. That's going to do for today's look at the Hickory Springs Manual Pull-Out Steps for RVs.
