Review of Hopkins Wiring HM48192

Today we'll be reviewing part number HM48192. This is the Hopkins Endurance Quick Fix Replacement Four-Way Flat Trailer Connector with LED test lights. The plug is designed to replace a damaged four-way flat trailer end connector in just a few quick, easy steps. All you have to do is cut off the broken plug, insert the existing wires into the new plug. In order to do that, you just need to undo the two screws here that's going to allow the plate to separate. You can bring your wires through the slots in the back, make the connections and then just press the cover on the new plug closed, and that's going to secure the wires in place, so no stripping of the wires is necessary. It's a very easy system to use.

Once you have the cover pressed down over the wires, you can then resecure by tightening up the screws. Here on top it's going to feature LED test lights that are going to confirm that electrical connections have been successfully made. It's got an integrated dust cover that's going to protect the terminals from the elements. Simply just place that over the connection points. This system here is the wire retention plate. That is going to insure a nice, secure installation.

It's also got some nice grip on it. That way you can get a secure hold and it makes it very simple to plug in and unplug the connector from the connection points. This is for use with 18-gauge wires. It can also work with 16-gauge wires. It's going to come with a terminal grease packet as well as the four-way flat trailer connector. That's going to do it for our review of part number HM48192. This is the Hopkins Endurance Quick Fix Replacement Four-Way Flat Trailer Connector with the LED test lights.

All led lights brink on hopkins 48192 connector when plugged in truck connector, and trailer lights do not work. Any help on why thanks.

Do you mean that the Hopkins Endurance is showing that all circuits are getting correct power on the 4-Way? If that's the case and the trailer lights aren't working then the issue has to be on the trailer side. Inspect its 4-Way for any corrosion or debris that needs to be cleaned out of the pins and make sure the main harness ground, as well as those on the light assemblies themselves, are securely attached to a clean, bare piece of metal.
