Review of Kodiak Accessories and Parts 15SI-BLKIT

Today we're going to take a look at the Kodiak 15 foot single axle hydraulic brake line kit. Now these brake hoses and the fittings will let you run brake fluid from your surge brake actuator to your trailer brakes. This kit, here, is designed for use on single axle trailers with drum or disk brakes. The flexible design on these hoses makes it perfect for use with fold-away trailer tongues, disk brakes, and torsion axles. These rubber hoses do meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, and the SAE standards, and they're easier to install than your rigid steel lines. This kit includes everything shown here on the table. One 15-foot long, flexible brake line.

One 7-foot long, flexible brake line. One 1-1/2 foot long flexible brake line. One T-fitting, and 14 1/2 inch loom clamps. Now, if you look on the ends of these hoses, they use a brass male swivel flare nut fitting on the ends of the hose. They have a nice deep thread to them, and those deep threads will improve your connection to help prevent leaks. It also swivels, you can see, which allow the flare fittings to turn without the hose twisting.

If you notice, it's on a stainless steel flare, and it will corrosion. They're a lot stronger than brass to reduce any splitting. Also, if you notice, when you push this up to tighten it in, they'll give you this open are on the flare fitting, this will let you use a line wrench for better grip, which will minimize the risk of stripping the threads when installing this. If you notice, the fittings, right here, it's a double crimp brass ferrule, right here, securing the clamp fittings to the hose. Now, the fitting right here, is a corrosion resistant brass fitting. It's a T-fitting, which will connect your hydraulic lines. On all three ports, they do use female inverted flares.

The loom clamps, they're heavy duty loom clamps. They will secure these hoses to your trailer's frame. A few specs on these hoses. The inner diameter on them, is 1/8 of an inch. The fitting size is 3/16 of an inch.

The thread size is 3/8 inch by 24. That should do it for the review on the Kodiak 15-foot single axle hydraulic brake line kit.
