Review of Kodiak Trailer Hubs and Drums KHR12D

Today we're going to review part number KHR12D. This is the Kodiak twelve inch hub and rotor assembly with the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern. It has a Dacromet finish and it's designed to fit fifty-two hundred pound and six thousand pound axles. This single piece assembly makes installation a snap, whether you're retrofitting or switching from drum brakes, the machine process on it minimizes run out and warping. It is a balanced unit between the hub and the rotor so this will provide a smooth ride. It does have the vented design and this will effectively dissipate the heat and prevents any heat related damage.

It does use the half inch diameter wheel studs so it uses the half inch lug nuts. They have the industry standard bearing races pre-installed for the outer bearing and the inner bearing. This is a cast iron construction. This will ensure a favorable friction coefficient for necessary stopping power. The Dacromet plating provides superior corrosion resistance for fresh water or salt water use. They actually go through a four hundred to six hundred hour salt spray test to get a rating.

Again, this fits the axle size of fifty-two hundred pounds or six thousand pounds. It does use a wheel size of fifteen inches and larger. Again, the bolt pattern is six lugs, five and a half inch bolt pattern. Again, it uses a wheel lug size of a half inch. The diameter on the rotor itself, from end to end, is twelve inches.

Again, the bearings are not included, they are sold separately. It does use an inner bearing of part number 25580 and the outer bearing of part number 15123. Both of those we do sell on our website. That should do it for the review on part number KHR12D. This is the Kodiak twelve inch hub and rotor assembly with the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern in the Dacromet finish.
