Review of Lippert Components RV Stairs and Steps LC432690

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Lippert Manual Pull-Out Triple Step for RVs. This is a manually operated RV step that makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. Simply pull the steps out for use, and position them back in place for travel. A really nice, easy-to-use, easy-to-operate design. Now before I show you exactly how to do that, I just want to point out some features on the surfacing of the step. Each step is going to come with 2 strips of non-skid tread tape. This is going to provide sure footing, so you won't slip as you get into and out of your RV.

Also, we have a nice rounded-edge design at the front of the step, so it eliminates sharp corners. We're going to have these channels on each step, 2 channels on each step with drain holes on the ends. These are going to track dirt and moisture, and it's going to keep it in these channels. That way, your feet stay elevated out of the mess. Then it's going to drain out of the drain holes to keep it from building up on the step surface.

That's a really nice design. Now, to get the unit to a stowed position, there's going to be a grab handle here on the underside that you can lift up on the bottom step. There'll be another grab handle under the middle step. As you push it into place, the entire unit rotates into the stowed position. When you're ready to use it, you pull right here on this handle, a very nice, easy operation, and then you pull out on that easy-to-use handle. That's really all there is to it.

The grab handles are a really nice feature. They keep your hands clear of any moving parts. The unit's made from a sturdy steel construction, a very strong, durable design. It's going to feature a black, powder-coated finish to keep it protected from rust and corrosion. It's an easy bolt-on installation or weld-on installation. It's going to mount to the RV frame in the same way as your original steps.

Mounting hardware is not included. If you need to use outriggers for your installation, you can do that. You can see all the holes right here that we have for installation of outriggers. Those are sold separately, and they're available here at etrailer.com if you're in need. Taking a look at some of the dimensions that this thing offers. At the top step, it's going to give us a width measurement, not including the braces on the side, so just measuring the width of the step, about 25 1/2 inches. These other steps are going to measure about 24 1/4 inches wide. That's pretty close to industry standard, right around that 24-inch mark. The depth of each step: it looks like they're all going to measure the same at 8 1/4 inches deep from front to back. The mounting base, edge to edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about 27 1/2 inches wide. If we measure the side plates, you can see that's a multi-angle design, so at the widest point, we're looking at about 12 inches wide. Here at this angle, that's going to be about 9 1/2 inches wide. Then back here at this angle, it's going to be about 8 1/2 inches wide. Overall height of the side plate, it's going to be about 16 inches tall. When it comes to the bolt-hole separation, each side plate is going to have 2 mount holes located at the very top. These ones right here are separated on center by about 7 inches going straight across. Then going this direction, edge to edge, these holes are separated on center by . That looks to measure 26 3/8 inches. The last thing I want to go over with you is just the drop and rise. That's the measurement between each step. From this one, the top of this one to the top of this one, that's going to give us a measurement of about 8 3/4 inches. Between these two, we're looking at about 9 1/2 inches. Then from the top of this step to the top of the mounting area, it's going to be about 4 3/4 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Lippert Manual Pull-Out Triple Step for RVs.
