Review of Lippert Components RV Stairs and Steps LC432698

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lippert Alumi-Tread manual pullout steps for RVs. This is a quad step design or a four step design. It's very strong, sturdy and durable. It's a manually operated RV step system that makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. Right now I have it in the usable position, but when you're ready to move it to a stowed position, it's very quick and easy to do. Grab that bottom step, folds up and then just keep grabbing the step that's underneath.

Some of them are going to have these grab handles on there that just makes that process much easier, and then now it's in a stowed position. When you're ready to use it, grab the pull handle, it's really a nice, almost effortless design. That's all there is to it. Very quick and easy to use. Each step surface is going to feature an anti slip design that offers excellent traction. We're going to have a textured surface that provides traction in wet or muddy condition.

It also helps scrape items off of your feet before entering your RV, and then each step is going to have two rubber strips that help prevent slipping, so those are going to increase overall safety and they just add more traction, more grip. The aluminium step platforms are rust proof. They're lightweight when it comes to the overall construction, makes extending and retracting the steps very easy to do. Then the linkages and the framing on the unit, that's made from a steel construction and that's going to have a powder coated finish on it which is going to be highly resistant to rust and corrosion as well. The unit's a very sleek, euro style design. It's an easy bolt on or weld on installation.

It's going to mount to your RV frame in the same manner as your original steps. May require outriggers for installation. It does have the mounting area for outriggers. Outriggers are sold separately if needed. Mounting hardware's not included. A few measurements that I want to go over with you real quick, the dimensions of the steps are going to change a little bit the further down we go.

Here at the top step, if we take a width measurement of the length, or excuse me, just measuring the aluminum portion edge to edge, so from this point going all the way across to this point here, that's going to give us a measurement of 25 3/4 of an inch and that's the width measurement for the top one. Okay, this one, that's going to be 24 3/8, for this one going edge to edge, that's still going to be in that same ballpark of 24 3/8, maybe 24 1/4 and then this bottom one is actually a little bit more narrow. That ones going to give us a width measurement of 23 7/8 of an inch. When it comes to the depth front to back of each step's going to be the same at around 8 1/2 to 8 5/8 of an inch deep. When it comes to the mounting base, measuring edge to edge, so outer edge to outer edge of the mounting base, that's going to give a measurement of about 28 inches. Then you'll notice that on the mounting base, it kind of tapers in here at the mount location, so corner to corner measures about 8 1/2 inches. Back edge to back edge is going to be about 9 1/2 inches and then the actual side plates, those are going to be about 12 inches by 16 inches. The mount hole separation on center . Now each side plate's going to have two mount holes at the top. These holes are going to be separated on center by about seven inches, and then going across this direction, the mount holes are separated on center by about 26 3/4 of an inch. When it comes to the drop and rise, from the top of the mounting plates to the top of the first step, we're looking at about five to five and 1/8 of an inch. From this step to this step, top to top, we're looking at about eight and 1/4. Top to top we're looking at about eight inches and top to top we're looking at about 8 inches. The unit also features a weight carrying capacity of 300 pounds. That's going to do it for today's look at the Lippert Alumi-Tread manual pull out step for RVs.
