Lippert Components RV and Camper Steps - LC799640 Review

Today, we're going to take a look at the Lippert Entry Assist Handrail for the solid step manual RV steps. Now this handrail is designed to install into the inside of the step, on your solid step manual RV step so that you can safely enter and exit your RV. This part will include the handrail itself, the two mounting brackets with the clevis pins, the backer plate and the hardware that's needed to install it. Now, this handrail is designed to work with the third generation triple or quad solid step models only. It will not work on the double solid step third generation are the second generation models of steps. The way you can tell the third generation model has the solid side rails. The earlier models have the open side rails.

Now for this demonstration, I did pull a quad solid step third generation model to show you how the handrail would look when it's installed on here. Basically, the mounting brackets right here and the backing plate, they basically will install to the side rails of the steps and they allow the handrail to insert into the mounting brackets. You can adjust them to the correct height that's needed for your application. Now, drilling is required for installation. Basically, the top mounting bracket, you would remove these bolts right here and install it like that.

On the bottom one with the backing plate, you would have to do some drilling to install it, but basically, you would pull out these locking pins that would hold the handle in place. Then when you slide your handle and when it's mounted, you can slide it in. You can see the handle has a range of holes, so basically, when you line in whichever holes you need, it'll get you to the five inch range of height adjustment for the handrail. The pins also helped the handrail stay secure when it's in use or being stored. Now, these handrail can be installed on either the right side or the left side of the step. So in other words, you could put it over here or over there.

It just depends on whether the door hinge is installed to the right door jamb or the left door jamb.So if the door has a right door jamb, then you'd install the handle on the left side. If it has a left door jamb, you just installed on the right-hand side. Now the finish on this handrail and all the mounting parts has a durable black powder coat finish. It's corrosion-resistant, does withstand the elements of all four seasons and the parts are made in the USA. The handrail itself is going to be height-wise about 34 inches tall, about 27 inches long and only about one inch wide.

But again, when you put your brackets on, basically, it would mount it right about there or if you'd put it on that side, it would mount right about there. But that should do it for the review on the Lippert Entry Assist Handrail for the Solid Step manual RV steps.
