Lippert Components - Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension - LC407131 Review

Today, we're going to take a look at the Lippert Components tandem spring axle 2 inch lift kit. This kit will add approximately two inches of additional ground clearance to a tandem axle trailer with leaf springs, so it allows for further unique trailer customization possibilities. And again, it is for use with tandem axles. We're going to go through all the parts here that are included, laid out on the table. You get 12 of these lift kit hanger plates, 12 of the 9/16 by 18 4-inch long bolts, 24 of the 9/16 washers, and 12 of the 9/16 by 18 nuts. Right here, you get six of the hanger spacers, six of the 9/16 shoulder bolts, with 7/16 threaded in, and then six of the 7/16 by 20 flange nuts. That should do it for the review on the Lippert Components tandem spring axle 2 inch lift kit.

@MorrisD the Lippert # LC40713120 kit is no longer available. Take a look at the Lippert # LC425750 Lift Kit.

@LesD - That appears to be for a single axle rather than dual axles. Is that correct? What additional parts would be needed for dual axles? Just buy two kits?

@LesD Lippert # LC425750 is for single axles. # LC40713120 was for tandem axles. That's what I need to do my lift.

Why is this $672 kit better than using simple 2” lift blocks and longer U bolts?

Standard lift blocks beneath the leaf springs can be (and are) used, but it's just not the safest route. When you're dealing with tandem and triple axles trailers, there's the potential for damage on the new U-bolts from twisting and movement caused by the blocks. Using a kit like the Lippert # LC407131 that extends the hangers (or simply replacing your existing hangers with longer ones) is the safer route and keeps the rest of your suspension setup the same.
