MORryde RV and Camper Steps - Motorhome - MR48RR Review

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Morryde Step Above Fold Down Steps for 23 and 3/4 inch to 26 and 1/4 inch RV door frames. Now these are manually operated RV steps. Make it very easy to get into and out of your travel trailer or fifth wheel. Simply you just fold this down for use, and then fold them back up for travel.

Has a nice grab handle here in this middle step for the very underneath of it. This handle provides a nice handhold. When you're maneuvering the steps, you just grab that handle. You can lift them up, and they'll latch into place. Or you can grab the handle and pull them out.

And they'll lower down to use them. The steps will lift up and lock into place, and they stow inside the entry door when they're not being used. Right here you can see there's a latch on this side, and a latch on that side. This will help keep the steps protected from the elements during travel, provides a nice alternative to installing them under the door, eliminates the need to have to cut into the metal skirting of the RV. Just to zoom in, I want to first show you the latch we're talking about.

You can see here's a little latch. There's one on this side. There's a handle here underneath that if you just twist that handle, you can see that those little tabs right here, the white tab will go in. And when you twist it, that'll release the steps, and then you can pull it down with the grab handle, lower it down. And then when you go to push it up to store it, you don't have to twist that, it has a little slant to the latch.

You can just push it up and it'll automatically latch it into place. The only way you need to twist the handle's when you run a lower the steps down. Also a nice feature, right up here I want to mention, is these hinge plates. They mount to the threshold. They hold your steps to your RV. It allows the steps to be easily removed from the door entrance, if needed. And the reason you'll need to do that is by chance if you happen to store your RV or your travel trailer in a storage lot, and it's very tight with vehicles right next to you, might not allow the steps to close or open up. What you want to do is before you park it in that situation is take these pins. You can see there's a pin on each hinge plate, pull those pins out, take the steps off. Then that way you don't have to worry about trying to lower them down when there's not enough room for it. So you can just remove the steps very easily. Next I want to talk about is these leg extensions. There's one on each side. These leg extensions will create a nice sturdy connection with the ground and eliminate any bounce. If you notice they have feet on the bottom that'll swivel to help level it out. So it reduces the potential for any slipping or falling during use. It was, does remain stable on uneven terrain, also, because you can adjust these legs individually, side to side to keep the steps parallel. You can pull them out one longer than the other. If it's uneven terrain. And what's nice about it has these quick release triggers. If you push the quick release trigger it makes it very easy to retract the step legs into the steps to extend the legs. You don't have to push the trigger. It's just as simple as pulling it out to the length you need it on each side. Those legs do adjust in one inch increments, for a total about 13 inches of adjustable length. Now this is a three-step assembly. The top step is an extra deep top step for easy entry and exit to the RV. Also on this left side here, you notice it has these threaded inserts in the stairs. Those inserts are for installation of a hand rail. If you prefer to install a hand rail on this, we do sell them separately on our website. They are listed on this product page as a related product. It's part number MR83AR. And they would just screw into these inserts, and give you a hand rail if needed. The steps are an anti-slip design. They offer excellent traction, has a nice textured surface, provides traction in wet or muddy conditions. And on the front of each step, you can see it has this nice non-slip tread tape to prevent any slipping. They are aluminum steps. So they are rust-proof and scratch resistant. Plus their lightweight construction makes lifting and lowering the steps virtually effortless. The steel frame right up here at the top. This is a powder coated steel frame, which is corrosion resistant. And when you get these steps, it'll be just like this. They come all preassembled for very easy installation. All you have to do is mount your hinge plates to your RV, and you're ready to go. It does come with the mounting hardware. Gives you the bag of screws right here that allow you to attach these hinge plates to your threshold. This part is made in the USA. Now a few specs on this, to these stairs here are designed to, there are a few measurements you'll need to measure to verify these stairs will fit your RV. Basically the entry height, which will be measured from the ground to the threshold of your door, this'll fit, these steps here will fit an entry height of 34 inches to 36 inches. And the doorway width, these will fit a doorway width from 23 and 3/4 inches to 26 and 1/4 inches. The step dimensions, if we measure the width of them, we're going to measure inside the inside. 19 and 1/2 inches for the width. We mentioned the top step depth being longer. 10 and 5/8 inches, the bottom two steps, are right at eight inches in depth. And the drop or the rise, in other words, the distance when you're walking up 'em, is gonna be to be right at nine inches. Now the height of this unit, when you put it in a travel or stowed position, in other words when you lift it up. The height of it's going to be about 40 inches tall. Weight capacity on these stairs is 500 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Morryde Step Above Fold Down Steps for 23 and 3/4 inch to 26 and 1/4 inch RV doorframes..
