Today we're going to be taking a look at the Maxxair Max Fan trailer roof fit with a 12 volt fan. Just to get started I want to point out that it's going to come with your interior garnish or trim piece. The flange right here will be the point that's visible from inside your trailer or RV. It's a nice white design so it's going to give it a clean, finished look. The roof or ceiling would be in between these points here. It's also going to come with this piece, which is going to be the roof flange.
It's going to connect to the actual vent housing with these clips right here and the provided hardware. The roof flange is included, all the hardware to get it installed in included, and it's going to come with the interior trim piece and garnish. I just wanted to mention that up front because I'm actually going to set these components aside so that we can talk a little bit more about just the fan. This is a really nice design. It's going to feature a reversible, variable speed fan that's going to allow you precisely control air movement in and out of your RV. This can be used as ceiling fan, so it will operate while the lid with closed to really help circulate air inside your trailer.
One of the most unique features about the unit is it has the built in rain cover. It's going to use a patented design to keep out the rain, so that way you don't have worry about anymore stuffy interiors even when it's raining outside. It also eliminates the need of having to install a separate vent cover to get rain protection, and ultimately it's going to do a great job at keeping the rain out, even when the lid is closed or open. That way you can operate the fan in practically any weather. Some other neat features about the unit is that it's going to feature an adjustable thermostat that lets you control the temperature inside your RV or trailer. If you're away or you're sleeping, it's really to help save energy by running the fan no more than necessary.
It's a really neat feature of the unit. It's going to have an automatic setting, which is going to set it at 78 degree Fahrenheit. That can be adjusted. It's going to come with detailed installation instructions to walk you through how to adjust that. It will adjust in increments of one degree.
You have a really nice keypad design right here, but again, that thermostat design is really nice feature to have. The rain cover lid is going to open and close with the manual rotating hand operated knob right here. The knob is actually in a locked position. To unlock it, you have to pull it out just like that and then you can rotate it clockwise or counter-clockwise to open and close the dome. It is a manual operation, but that knob can lock to ensure that the lid stays in position where you want it. We're going to go ahead and open it up. That way we can take a look at the lift arms that the unit uses. Really nice design. That's going to be fully open, so you can see the nice ventilation that it has here in the back. Now when it comes to the lift arms, it's pretty difficult to see, but if you look through that vent area, you're going to see a lift arm right below my finger on this side and at the same point on this side. The dual lift arms are going to provide sturdy support for the lid when it's open, so that's going to help it withstand high winds without fluttering and it can remain fully open while you're driving. The roof flange, again, is that separate piece that we talked about that's going to connect to the vent with mounting clips and screws. I also want to point out that keypad on the unit, where the thermostat is, that's going to be a flush mounted keypad, so it's very easy to operate and it's very easy to clean. You can just wipe that off if you ever need to clean it. Again, the white interior trim piece or garnish is included. Now this is designed to fit your standard opening size of . Rough opening size of 14 and a quarter by 14 and a quarter, or 14 inches by 14 inches. The standard opening size makes it easy to replace or upgrade an old vent. When it comes to the motor on the unit, it's going to feature a sealed ball bearing motor that's built to last a long time. You will have to make some electrical connections. It's designed to run off of a 12 volt DC minimum 5 amp service. It does come with the necessary hardware and electrical connections to get everything connected and installed according to the instructions. When it comes to the roof thickness that it'll fit, it'll fit roofs from 1 and 1/8th inches to 6 and a half inches thick. If your roof is less than 1 and 1/8th inch thick, the ceiling must be built up to accommodate the unit. When it comes to the fan specifications, that fan portion is going to be 12 inches in diameter. It's going to be a 10 blade design. You'll also see here that it has the insect screen. You can just rotate these out of the way and you can actually pop that insect screen out for easy cleaning of the unit and of the screen itself. Now, with it fully installed, it's going to sit above the roof in the closed position by about 5 inches, so it's a nice low profile design. When it's fully open that's going to increase to about 9 and 5/16ths of an inch. You can see here that the cover color is white, the trim piece or the garnish is white in color as well. That's going to do it for today's look at the Maxxair Max Fan trailer roof fit with a 12 volt fan.
