Today we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent. It's going to feature a reversible, variable-speed fan that's going to allow you to precisely control air movement in and out of your RV. It's going to bring in fresh air and it can remove hot, musty air and odors. It's going to feature a 10 speed design. The fan allows for intake and exhaust. It can be used as a ceiling fan so you can operate the fan while the lid is in the closed position to really circulate air inside your trailer. It's going to feature a fuse-protected, sealed ball bearing motor that's built to last a long time. A couple things I want to point out real quick: the unit is going to come with a roof mounting flange and it's going to come with the interior trim piece or garnish.
That's going to add a clean, finished look to the interior of your RV or trailer. This piece right here is the roof mounting flange. It's a separate piece that connects to the vent with the mounting clips and mounting hardware. It's going to feature a rubber seal inside this piece here. That's going to create a nice weather tight seal.
This piece right here is a square design. It's going to measure 16-1/2" x 16-1/2" outside edge to outside edge. The garnish is going to measure 16-3/8" x 16-3/8". Again that is outside edge to outside edge. I just wanted to mention those real quick so I could put those off to the side. We can just talk about the fan and vent area right here.
One of the most unique features about the unit is that it has a built in rain cover. This is going to use a patented design to really keep out the rain so no more stuffy interiors, even when it rains, there's no need to install a separate vent to get rain protection. It's going to keep out the rain when the lid is open. That way you can operate the fan in practically any weather. Internally you can see the venting back here. There's going to be a dual arm design.
That creates a good support system for the lid when it's open. It's going to help it withstand high winds without fluttering. It can remain fully open while you're driving. The two lifting arms really do provide sturdy support for the lid when it's in an open position. The durable rain cover lid is going to open and close with a rotating, hand-operated knob. That's going to be located right here. You can do it manually if you want to or you can do it automatically. It's going to have the keypad area right here that's also going to let you control the opening and closing of the lid. It does offer manual operation as well as automatic or electrical operation. It's a really nice design. With it fully open and with the unit installed on a roof, it's going to extend above the roof by about 9-5/16". With it fully closed, we'll go ahead and close it, in the fully closed position it's going to extend above the roof when it's fully installed by about 5". The unit is also going to feature a thermostat that's going to allow you to control room temperature, auto mode sets to 78 Fahrenheit. That can be adjusted in increments of one degree, just follow the steps listed in the included instructions to make your adjustments. It's a nice, low-profile design. Taking a look at the bottom side here again we're going to have that control knob on that side. On this side this is a flush mounted keypad so those controls are easy to operate and easy to clean. We're going to have the open and close function. The thermostat right here says "hold to set" 78 Fahrenheit. You push that, you'd hold it to set it to the auto mode. Then again if you follow the steps in the instructions you'll use the plus and minus buttons to also control the temperature. Again that's going to adjust in increments of one degree. You can control air in or air out. That just changes the directions that the fan blade spins. That's a nice, flush mount design. It's easily accessible and very easy to clean. It's also going to come with a remote control that's going to allow you to easily operate the unit. From a distance, like if you're sitting down, you can have this actually mounted on the wall. It's going to come with that mounting sleeve right there and hardware to get it installed. That remote is going to let you control all the functions of the fan. Your yellow button is you fan on and off. You have the vent open and close. Air in or air out. Fan auto, on and off. Temperature setting and your speed setting. It's also going to come with the batteries for that. Batteries are included. It's going to come with all necessary hardware and wiring connectors to get the unit installed. It's going to have an insect screen. That's going to do a great job at keeping unwanted items out. That is going to be held in place with these retaining knobs. You just rotate those to the side and you can remove the screen. It allows for easy removal, as well as easy cleaning. The standard opening size is going to make the unit easy to replace or upgrade an older vent. Again the electrical connectors and screws for installation are included. The unit is designed to fit roofs with a thickness of 1-1/8" to 6-1/2". If the roof is less than 1-1/8" thick, the ceiling must be built up. It does require a 12 volt DC minimum 5 amp service. When it comes to the fan specifications, the fan is going to measure 12" in diameter. That's going to be a ten, clear blade design. The unit is designed to fit into a rough opening size of 14" x 14" or 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Again, overall a nice, durable, dependable unit. The interior trim piece as well as the roof mounting flange and hardware and electrical connectors are all included. The batteries are included. Remote, and the wall mount bracket for the remote. That's going to do it for today's look at the MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent.
